Overview
The Social Service Worker diploma prepares you to work in community-based social service settings, including community inclusion, family support, group homes, housing support, Indigenous services, mental health, older adults, outreach, settlement, substance use, and youth support. UFV’s approach to social work and human services will root your career in the principles of reconciliation, social justice, equality, and diversity. You will gain a sound understanding of the social welfare system, theories of practice, professional ethics, and direct practice skills. The program provides students with employment-related skills while earning many university-level credits towards a Bachelor of Social Work or other degree.
