The Bachelor of Science Degree in Mathematics provides you training in pure mathematics, applied mathematics, and statistics. There is an early emphasis on the development of abstract reasoning and the relation of the abstract to the concrete.

1. High school graduation or equivalent 

2. At least a (65%) average on the following five courses:

- English Studies 12 or English First Peoples 12
- Pre-calculus 12 (67%)
- Two academic [Grade 12 courses](https://www.unbc.ca/calendar/undergraduate/high-school-admissions#ApprovedBCHighSchoolCourses)
- A fifth Grade 12 course (Academic or Elective)


Academic Admission Requirement

1. Verify alternative prerequisites directly with UNBC's Future Student's Office.

2. Admission Average: for all provinces, the best grade of the five required grade 12 courses will be used. 

Admission Advice

Early applications are accepted up to one year in advance of the intended start date. The application deadline is March for the September and May entry, and November for the January entry. Students are encouraged to apply early in advance of application deadlines. Deadlines are subject to change and may be extended depending on seats availability. Verify with the institution for specific dates.

For international students, applications are not encouraged for the May semester, unless applicants are transferring from a Canadian post-secondary institution.
