The Accounting Studies Post-Degree Diploma is for students who hold a bachelor’s degree in a discipline other than commerce or business administration. You'll take courses in accounting, income tax, data analytics, business strategy, and more. You'll also have the option to participate in the Career Boost programs.

1. Completion of a bachelor's degree from a recognized post-secondary institution in Canada or an equivalent credential from an approved institution of a different country.

2. High school graduation or equivalent or
    - One course short of B.C. secondary school graduation
    - 19 years old by the end of the first month of the first semester of attendance
    - 17 years old on the first day of the first semester of attendance and has not been in school for at least one year
    - Completion of a certificate or equivalent from a special needs program and has been in school for 12 years

3. English 12 (C) or equivalent*

*Note: based on both course and provincial exam grades

Academic Admission Requirement


1. This program is intended for students with degrees in areas other than Business. If you have an undergraduate degree in business administration, please check out Accounting Post-Degree Diploma as it may be a more suitable program for you. 

2. If your degree was completed in a language other than English, you will need to meet the Douglas College English Proficiency Requirement [that is English 12 (C) or equivalent].

Admission Advice

Admissions to open-enrollment programs are offered on a first-qualified, first-admitted basis. Students are encouraged to apply early.

- September intake- applications typically open in early October of the previous year until late August / early September.
- January intake- applications typically open in early February of the previous year until late December / early January.
- May intake- applications typically open in early June of the previous year until late April / early May.
