The English for Academic Purposes- Early Childhood Care and Education Pathway for international students allows you to gain the skills to start working in early childhood education settings, helping children learn, grow and succeed. The Pathway allows you to begin getting credit for an ECCE credential while you are improving your English.

1. English is the language of instruction at CapU. All applicants are required to demonstrate competence in the English Language prior to admission.

If English is not your first language or you’ve received your education in a language other than English, students must produce evidence of their English Language Proficiency:
- Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL): paper=520, internet=67, or
- International English Language Testing System (Academic IELTS)=5.5 overall, and no one score less than 5.0, or
- Canadian Academic English Language Assessment (CAEL)=50, or
- Pearson Test of English (PTE Academic)=50, or
- Capilano University EAP 080 with a minimum B grade, or

Academic Admission Requirement

1. English is the language of instruction at CapU. All applicants are required to demonstrate competence in the English language prior to admission. If English is not your first language or you’ve received your education in a language other than English, you must meet our [English Language Requirements.](https://www.capilanou.ca/admissions/apply-to-capu/admission-requirements/english-language-requirements/)
2. Current Grade 12 students can be conditionally accepted based on final Grade 11 grades or interim Grade 12 grades. Students can upload proof of grades (e.g. unofficial transcripts, copies of report cards) through [EducationPlannerBC](https://apply.educationplannerbc.ca/apply/complete-application/capilanou) when applying to Capilano University. Final acceptance will be based on high school graduation and having met the program specific requirements.
3. Applicants from B.C high schools must release their grades to CapU via the [BC Ministry of Education at Student Transcripts Services](https://www2.gov.bc.ca/gov/content/education-training/k-12/support/transcripts-and-certificates) (STS) as soon as possible.
