The Diploma in Special and Inclusive Education features coursework in the advanced intervention of developmental disabilities, behaviour challenges, assistive technologies, inclusive education, and effective consultation skills. You may only enter the Diploma following the completion of the Professional Specialization Certificate in Special and Inclusive Education.

1. Completion of a bachelor's degree from a recognized institution

2. One of:
- Completion of UVic's Special and Inclusive Education Professional Specialization Certificate 
- Completion of a post-Bachelor of Education Certificate in Special Education from an approved post-secondary institution comparable to UVic's Special and Inclusive Education Professional Specialization Certificate

Academic Admission Requirement

1. Valid teaching certificate
2. Two years (preferably)* of teaching experience or work-related experience with children and youth with special needs
3. Criminal Record Check in compliance with BC Criminal Records Review Act (upon acceptance) 

Note: Applicants who do not fully meet the requirement of experience may submit a letter describing how you have equivalent qualifications.
