In the Bachelor of Music Degree, you will learn how to create, produce and promote music as a working professional. Mix with performers, composers, recording artists and scholars in an immersive, collaborative experience. Whether you want to play, compose or teach, you'll become an engaged leader in musical communities around the world. The courses, ensembles, studio lessons and recording technologies connect music of the past with the present.

1. High school graduation or equivalent

2. All of the following Grade 12 courses: 
    - English 12 (67%) or equivalent
    - Two approved academic 12 courses
    - One additional approved academic 12 or approved fine arts 12

3. All of the following Grade 11 courses: 
    - One approved English 11 or equivalent
    - Three courses from:
        - Foundations of Math 11 or Pre-calculus 11 or equivalent
        - Science 11 or equivalent
        - Language 11 or equivalent
        - Fine arts 11 or equivalent
        - Social studies 11/12 or equivalent

Estimated admission average: 75%

Academic Admission Requirement

1. Recorded audition (one or more video recording of yourself performing)

2. Two letters of reference

Additional Academic Admission Requirement

1. All applicants to UVic (regardless of country of origin or citizenship status) are required to demonstrate competence in the English language prior to admission. You can choose one of several ways to demonstrate language proficiency. You are not required to provide proof of language proficiency if you have studied full time for at least four years within Canada at the high school and/or post-secondary level, and all of your instruction has been in English.

3. Admission averages are calculated using all required Grade 12 courses for entry to a program.
