The Bachelor of Science Degrees provides you graduate with a resumé that includes funded research, fieldwork experience and paid research positions. This hands-on experience improves your career prospects and looks great on graduate school applications.

1. Pre-calculus 12 (B) or Mathematics 12 (B)
2. One of:
    - High school graduation (or equivalent) with English 12 (C) or equivalent
    - Completion of a university degree
    - Visiting student from a college or university (a "Letter of Permission" from the home institution is required)
    - Transfer student from a college or university with at least 24 university transfer credits
    - Mature student status (be at least 21 years old in your first semester) with English 12 (C) or equivalent



Note: If you don't meet any of the admission categories, you may be admitted as an "Unclassified Student" to register into university-level courses which you meet the prerequisites. You will register after other students, so course availability will be limited.

Academic Admission Requirement

1. There are also specific course registration requirements (called prerequisites) which are listed within VIU’s course description. Prerequisite = Course that must be successfully completed prior to registering in a given course. For course registration and program completion purposes, you will need to meet the prerequisites for individual Arts and/or Science courses in the program. Students who do not meet the mathematics requirement should consult Advising on how to upgrade while working towards the BSc.


Admission Advice

For domestic student the application generally close one month before the start of an intake. For international students the application generally close three months before the start of an intake. Early application is recommended.
