This Bachelor of Education Post-Degree Professional Program (PDPP) in Elementary is for degree holders who want to teach elementary or middle school classes. After a combinaiton of academic and practicum experiences, you’ll graduate with a Bachelor of Education degree and be eligible to apply for a B.C. teaching certificate.

This program offers a [Elementary PDPP Francais](https://www.uvic.ca/education/curriculum/undergraduate/home/programs/frenchtep/index.php), which will prepare you for teaching in elementary schools in BC in the following programs: Core French, French Immersion, and Francophone Program.

1. A bachelor's degree from a recognized institution that is acceptable to the University of Victoria.
2. A minimum average of "C+" (3.00 on the UVic 9-point scale) on the most recent 12 UVic units attempted (24 credits = approximately 8 courses).
3. A minimum average of "C+" (3.00 on the UVic 9-point scale) on the most recent two full years of courses attempted (30 UVic units = 60 credits).

Note: 3.0 UVic units are equivalent to two half-year courses or 6 credits at most BC colleges and universities.

Academic Admission Requirement

1. Approved courses in English, Canadian studies, mathematics and science
2. Minimum of 75 hours of practical experience (paid or volunteer) working with children/youth from Kindergarten - Grade 12 in educative ways.

1. If you are missing any of the admission requirements, you may take them at UVic as a pre-education student.

Admission Advice

Applications must usually be submitted by early January for September program entry. Final transcripts must usually be submitted by May.
