In the Bachelor of Commerce Degree is to develop your business skills in a collaborative and innovative environment. You have the option to expand your perspectives by studying abroad. You'll gain relevant work experience in the mandatory co-op program as you complete your degree.

**There are two different admission categories:**

**Option A. Year-1 Admission from High School:**
High school graduation or equivalent 
1. All of the following Grade 12 courses:
    - English Studies 12 or English First Peoples 12 or equivalent
    - Pre-calculus 12 or equivalent
    - Two approved academic 12 courses

2. All of the following Grade 11 courses:
    - Approved English 11 or equivalent
    - Pre-calculus 11
    - Approved Science 11
    - Approved Social studies 11/12 or equivalent

**Option B. Year-2 Admission:** Please be aware that seats are extremely limited in intake of the BCom program, and admissions will be highly competitive. We recommend students consider applying to an alternate UVic faculty and completing a Business or Entrepreneurship Minor instead. If you do choose to apply to BCom, please understand that application fees are non-refundable. Academic Admission Requirement

2. At UVic, the value of courses is given in units. Most courses at UVic that run for one term count for 1.5 units per course.

3. For students who study at another post-secondary institution in BC, you can use [BC Transfer Guide](https://www.bctransferguide.ca/) to search course equivalency and transferability.  

4. All applicants to UVic (regardless of country of origin or citizenship status) are required to demonstrate competence in the English language prior to admission. You can choose one of several ways to demonstrate language proficiency. You are not required to provide proof of language proficiency if you have studied full time for at least four years within Canada at the high school and/or post-secondary level, and all of your instruction has been in English.
