1. One of:
    - Completion of an undergraduate degree from a recognized post-secondary institution
    - Completion of minimum 90 credits leading to an undergraduate degree from a recognized post-secondary institution, including at least 30 credits at the upper-level) 

Note: The vast majority of students admitted to TRU Law will have an undergraduate degree (with at least 90 course credits).


Academic Admission Requirement

1. CV or resume (indicating your academic history, employment and/or professional experiences and extra-curricular community activities, if applicable)
2. 2 letters of reference (at least one academic) (both forwarded to TRU's Law Admission Office directly by the referees) 
3. Law School Admission Test (LSAT) score
4. Statement of Interest (maximum 750 words)
5. Any other supplemental documents required by your selected category of admission (Aboriginal or Special Consideration Applicants)

Additional Academic Admission Requirement

1. There are currently three categories of admission available to an applicant. You may elect one of these categories:

   - Regular Applicant
   - Special Consideration Applicant
   - Indigenous Canadian Applicant

2. If you have any circumstances which you wish to be considered by the Faculty of Law Admissions Committee, you can describe how circumstances (such as disability, special needs, financial disadvantage, age, membership in a historically disadvantaged group, residency in a small and/or remote community or injuries and illness) may have adversely affected your performance in your undergraduate work. Please note that applicants in this category must still satisfy the basic requirements for admission into the program. 

3. Applicants who self-identify as Indigenous, including First Nations (status or non-status), Inuit, and Métis, may apply for admission under the Indigenous Canadian category. Applicants in this category may be admitted based on LSAT score and past academic performance, but may also receive consideration with particular attention to personal history as it relates to past academic performance, connections to Indigenous communities and organizations, employment history, and other factors and indicators of potential for future academic success. Applicants in this category should ensure such factors are described and discussed in the "statement of interest" and "additional statement" portions of their applications.

Admission Advice

One intake (program entry) per year: Fall (September)

Applications for the Fall intake are open at the beginning of September and close on early-mid February.
