The Bachelor of Science Degree in Mathematics is about pattern and order, focusing on quantity, arrangement and form. You'll gain a firm foundation in pure mathematics, and flexible options in the program allow you to apply these skills in fields ranging from finance to cryptography.

1. High school graduation or equivalent
2. English 12 (70%) or [equivalent](https://www.sfu.ca/students/admission/admission-requirements/english-language-requirement.html)
3. Pre-calculus 12 or equivalent 
4. Two of: 
    - Calculus 12 or equivalent
    - Biology 12 or equivalent 
    - Chemistry 12 or equivalent 
    - Physics 12 or equivalent
5. One additional from List A or List B
6. Social studies 11 or equivalent
7. Additional language 11 or equivalent

Academic Admission Requirement

To enroll in a course offered by the Department of Mathematics, a student must obtain a grade (C-) or better in each prerequisite course. Some courses may require higher prerequisite grades. Check the MATH course’s Calendar description for details. No student may complete, for further credit, any course offered by the Department of Mathematics which is a prerequisite for a course the student has already completed with a grade (C-) or higher, without permission of the department.

1. All equivalent courses can be found in either List A or List B under requirements of the institution's program website.

2. Admission is based on an evaluation of all approved Grade 11 and 12 courses, with greater emphasis on List A courses than List B. Equivalent AP or IB courses may be used in place of certain courses - see the institution's website for details.

- Post-secondary/transfer applicants: October to February
- January intake: June to September
- May intake: October to January
