The Music and Technology - Contemporary - Advanced Diploma is the third year option for the Music and Technology Program. A diverse cross-section of musical styles is offered allowing students to explore the best that each genre has to offer from rock and blues, to jazz, folk and world music. Develop your skills in performance, improvisation, songwriting, composition, film scoring, recording and live sound mixing.

Selkirk College Graduates

1. Completion of Selkirk College's Contemporary Music and Technology Diploma or completion of a 2-year music education from another institution equivalent to Selkirk's Contemporary Music and Technology Diploma

Non-Selkirk College Graduates

1. Competency with digital audio software (Pro Tools)
2. Ability on the instrument of your specialization by providing a recording or video



Academic Admission Requirement

For NON-SELKIRK STUDENTS

- Before the applicant's file is considered to be complete, the following must be received:
- Completed application form
- Official transcripts from applicant’s previous (minimum) 2 years of post-secondary musical education.
- Completion of the College Readiness Tool assessment
- The applicant information questionnaire
- proof of equivalency for non-Selkirk students intending to take technology and performance based courses.

For SELKIRK STUDENTS

- Before the applicant's file is considered to be complete, the following must be received:
- a completed application form; and
- the applicant information questionnaire.


1. This is the third year option for the Music and Technology Program.
2. If you entering the Postgraduate Diploma may apply for one or more private lessons

Admission Advice



Completed applications (except for the audition) are recommended to be submitted to the Registrar’s office up to a year in advance but as late as by late April prior to the start of the next intake of the program. Courses and private lessons have limited space available so preference will be given to those that apply early.
