The Bachelor of Science in Environmental Science lets you build on your existing knowledge of environmental science. This team-based degree-completion program brings together theory and practical laboratory and fieldwork skills. You’ll learn about environmental management, economics, law, communications, sustainable development, and cross training with the humanities. You’ll also spend time in laboratories, giving you experience in laboratory practice and procedures as well as the foundations of environmental science with chemistry, hydrology, ecotoxicology and ecology. Upon graduation, you'll be prepared for leadership in the industry, government and environmental consulting.

**Option A.**

1. Completion of an approved transfer program (B GPA) from a recognized post-secondary institution

OR

**Option B.**

1. Completion of an Arts or Science diploma (or 60 credits) from a recognized post-secondary institution, including at least 24 credits at the second-year level (B GPA)
2. Six credits (two courses) in Chemistry (B) or equivalent with a laboratory component in at least one of the two courses
3. Six credits (two courses) in Biology (B) or equivalent
4. Six credits (two courses) in Math or Physics (may include 3 credits of statistics) (B) or equivalent, with at least one course in Linear Algebra or Calculus
5. Six credits (two courses) in Writing or Communications (B) or equivalent

Academic Admission Requirement

1. Official transcripts from all post-secondary institutions currently or previously attended
2. If you are applying under the flexible admission process, you will also need to provide:

* Letter of reference
* Two-to-three-page statement of intent addressing the following three points:
  * The reason for selecting the programs
  * How the program will support, develop, or enhance your sense of purpose or personal and professional goals
  * Why you believe that project-based learning is the best learning style for you
* Detailed chronological resume including the following points:
  * Education
  * Work experience
  * Training and professional development
  * Voluntary/unpaid work experience
  * Information technology training and experience
  * Professional memberships/affiliations
  * Other relevant Information

1. The requirements listed above are the minimum needed for admission. However, well-prepared students typically have completed the following recommended courses:
   Inorganic and Organic Chemistry
   Ecology and Microbiology
   Calculus and Linear Algebra
2. If you do not meet the admission requirements above, you will be considered for flexible admission:

* Completion of prerequisite courses with a minimum 'B' (3.00/4.33) grade in each.
* Significant, relevant experience.

1. If English is not your primary language, you are required to meet Royal Roads University's English Language Requirements (for applicants applying for third-year entry to undergraduate programs).

Admission Advice

Applications are accepted and reviewed year round. Space may be limited, so applicants are advised to apply at least 6 months before the program start date.  Application deadline is approximately three months before the program start date. Once your full application is received, you will find out if you have been accepted in 4-8 weeks.
