Neuroscience is the multidisciplinary study of the brain and the nervous system. Methodologies from many disciplines including cellular and molecular biology, behavioural sciences, cognitive psychology, physiology and anatomy are used to investigate neural function and behaviour.

Students must be admitted into Bachelor of Science to pursue this program. 

1. High school graduation or equivalent

2. English Studies 12 or English First Peoples 12 or [equivalent](https://you.ubc.ca/applying-ubc/requirements/english-language-competency/) AND English 11 or their equivalents (70% in one of them)

3. Minimum six academic/non-academic Grade 12 courses (recommended)

4. Pre-Calculus 12 or equivalent

5. One of:
    - Anatomy and Physiology 12
    - Chemistry 12 
    - Physics 12
    - Equivalent

6. Pre-Calculus 11 or Foundations of Math 12 or equivalent

7. Chemistry 11

8. Physics 11

9. A [Language 11](https://vancouver.calendar.ubc.ca/admissions/applicants-following-bcyukon-secondary-school-curriculum/minimum-academic-qualifications) or [Waiver](https://you.ubc.ca/applying-ubc/applied/submit-documents/#canadian_high_school_student) (includes all second language courses, excludes introductory language 11 courses)

10. The following subject categories are particularly relevant for this degree. Consider taking courses in these areas in Grade 11 and Grade 12.

    - Sciences

*Note: There is no minimum number of courses required for admission, but you are encouraged to challenge yourself with a substantial number of courses that are relevant to your intended area of study.

1. Entry to the program specialization (Major) occurs at the second-year level, following one year in basic undergraduate science. You will apply for entry to the program Major/Specialization at the end of first-year study in the Bachelor of Science program (after completing at least 24 credits, including all required admission prerequisites for your desired specialization). Placement to a specialization is a competitive process and is based on your first-year grades at UBCV or your admission average (if you are a transfer student).
