Langara's Engineering Transfer Certificate is a BCCAT articulated program providing courses to match the first year of engineering study at the University of British Columbia. Those courses satisfy the UBC Faculty of Applied Science requirements for engineering transfer classification when completed in the regular 2-semester academic year.

1. High school graduation or equivalent
2. English 12 (70%) or [equivalent](https://langara.ca/admissions/requirements/english-language-requirements/index.html) (Category 1)
3. Math - one of:
   * Pre-calculus 12 (B) or equivalent
   * Pre-calculus 12 (C+) or equivalent and Calculus 12 (C-) or equivalent
4. Chemistry 12 (B) or equivalent
5. Physics 12 (B) or equivalent

Academic Admission Requirement

1. Admission by diagnostic test scores is permitted only with departmental approval. Diagnostic test information is available on the Langara College website. 

2. Admission preference in the admission process will be given to applicants who have demonstrated they can handle a heavy course load.

3. Admission into the Certificate in Arts and Science (Engineering) is competitive; meeting the minimum admission requirements does not guarantee admission into the program.

4. Students who do not meet admissions requirements may take upgrading courses at Langara to meet equivalencies.

Admission Advice

Applications may be submitted starting 11 months before the intended program start date. Early application is recommended.		
		
The deadline to submit a complete application in order to be admitted for the fall, spring, or summer semesters is the first day of classes for that program-entry semester. A complete application includes a completed application form, application fee payment, and any supporting documents required. No applications will be accepted after the deadline date.
