The Associate of Arts Degree can lead into a Major or Minor Bachelor of Arts Degree program at a university. You can specialize in fields like biology, chemistry, earth and environmental sciences, or mathematics, and more.

1. One of: 
    - High school graduation or equivalent
    - One course short of BC secondary school graduation
    - 19 years old by the end of the first month of the first semester of attendance
    - 17 years old on the first day of the first semester of attendance and has not been in school for at least one year
    - Completion of a certificate or equivalent from a special needs program and has been in school for 12 years

2. English Studies 12 (C) or [equivalent](https://www.douglascollege.ca/future-students/admission-information/english-proficiency-requirement)*

Academic Admission Requirement

1. Students currently in Grade 12 may submit interim transcripts for the above requirements.	
	
2. If you are missing any of the requirements for admission and/or for course registration, Douglas College offers academic upgrading courses to help you get started.	

Admission Advice

Admissions to open-enrollment programs are offered on a first-qualified, first-admitted basis. Students are encouraged to apply early. 

- September intake- applications typically open in early October of the previous year until late August / early September. 
- January intake- applications typically open in early February of the previous year until late December / early January. 
- May intake- applications typically open in early June of the previous year until late April / early May.
