The Jazz Studies Diploma provides courses in theory of music, jazz history, ear training and sight singing, jazz performance, rhythmic music, jazz ensemble, jazz choir and more.

Academic Admission Requirement

1. English is the language of instruction at CapU. All applicants are required to demonstrate competence in the English language prior to admission. If English is not your first language or you’ve received your education in a language other than English, you must meet our [English Language Requirements.](https://www.capilanou.ca/admissions/apply-to-capu/admission-requirements/english-language-requirements/)

Jazz Studies Diploma does not accept applications directly. However, students can apply to CapU's Jazz Studies: Bachelor of Music Degree - Performance/Composition (127 Credits) OR Jazz Studies: Bachelor of Music Degree - Education (131.5 Credits). Upon completing the program graduation requirements of Jazz Studies Diploma (66 Credits), you will be awarded the Diploma. Verify with the CapU program pages for specific dates.
