The Graphic Design in Interactive Media Diploma is designed for graduates of graphic design certificate programs. The program offers advanced training in UI/UX, web and mobile design, motion graphics, experiential design, art direction, and interactive media technologies. To note – BCIT [Certificate in Graphic Design](https://www.educationplannerbc.ca/institutions/british-columbia-institute-of-technology/5B7C9834-D996-4A2F-A947-8F713AD8019D/programs/BCIT-graphic-design-certificate) grads may be able to ladder directly into the diploma.

1. English Studies 12 (67%) or [equivalent](https://www.bcit.ca/admission/entrance-requirements/english-language-proficiency/#category2)
2. One of the following completed within the last five years:
   * Completion of the [Graphic Design Certificate](https://www.educationplannerbc.ca/institutions/british-columbia-institute-of-technology/5B7C9834-D996-4A2F-A947-8F713AD8019D/programs/BCIT-graphic-design-certificate) from BCIT
   * Alternate entry: Completion of a Graphic Design Certificate or related discipline with a minimum of 30 credits from a recognized post-secondary institution other than BCIT. Alternate entry applicants must complete and email the following pre-entry assessment form to [digitalarts@bcit.ca](mailto:digitalarts@bcit.ca) to have it assessed by the department:
- [Pre-entry Assessment Form ](https://www.bcit.ca/files/admission/pdf/preentry_assessment_gdim.pdf): The program area will review your assessment. You may be asked to submit additional documentation and bridging courses may be required. Once your pre-entry assessment form has been signed by the program area, you can upload it and submit your online application.

Students currently enrolled in the BCIT Certificate in Graphic Design may be conditionally accepted. Applicants must submit proof of registration in all remaining certificate courses to show they are on track to complete the program with sufficient time to move onto the diploma.

You are recommended to have the following for success in this program:

1. Attend an information session before applying to gain a deeper understanding of the program’s structure, expectations, and career outcomes.
2. Proficiency using Windows and/or macOS, including file organization, keyboard shortcuts, and digital workflow efficiency.
3. Solid understanding of basic computer concepts and logic, including online file sharing, cloud-based collaboration, and troubleshooting.
4. Previous experience with industry-standard design software, including Adobe InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, and UI/UX tools such as Figma or Adobe XD.
5. Strong time management and organizational skills to manage multiple projects and meet tight deadlines.
6. Ability to give and receive constructive feedback and collaborate effectively in team-based environments.
7. A growth mindset and adaptability, especially when working with emerging technologies and evolving design practices.
