Overview
The Medical Office Administration Certificate will teach you procedures for medical office administration, including how to communicate accurately with medical professionals and patients. You’ll take MOA courses in anatomy, physiology, medical transcription, medical and pharmaceutical terminology, patient scheduling and billing, and develop your clinical skills with a three-week practicum. By the time you graduate from the Medical Office Assistant program, you’ll be proficient in the keeping of both paper and electronic medical records and will know how to manage offices and communicate effectively with medical professionals and patients. After one year of experience, MOAs are eligible to write the Medical Office Assistant of B.C. registration examination.
