In the Diploma of Financial Services Management program, you’ll take financial services courses as well as courses in personal selling, business law and management essentials. The program provides the financial knowledge to be successful in various industry licensing exams such as insurance, mutual funds and investments. You’ll also graduate ready to challenge the FP Canada Qualified Associate Financial Planner (QAFP) exam.

1. High school graduation or equivalent or

    - One course short of B.C. secondary school graduation
    - 19 years old by the end of the first month of the first semester of attendance
    - 17 years old on the first day of the first semester of attendance and has not been in school for at least one year
    - Completion of a certificate or equivalent from a special needs program and has been in school for 12 years, or has received an Evergreen or Leaving School Certificate

2. English 12 (C) or equivalent*

Academic Admission Requirement

1. Students currently in Grade 12 may submit interim transcripts for the above requirements.	
	
2. Admissions are offered on a first-qualified, first-admitted basis.	
	
3. Aside from program entry/admission requirements, there are also specific course registration requirements (called prerequisites) which are listed within Douglas College course description. Prerequisite = Course that must be successfully completed prior to registering in a given course. You may enter the program without having the prerequisite for individual courses, but you must complete these course prerequisite(s) before registering in specific courses in the program. For example: 	

    - Pre-Calculus 11 (C) or Foundations of Math 11 (C) or equivalent is a prerequisite before you can register in FINC 1231 (a first-year course required by the program) 
	
4. If you are missing any of the requirements for admission and/or for course registration, Douglas College offers academic upgrading courses to help you get started.	

Admission Advice

Admissions to open-enrollment programs are offered on a first-qualified, first-admitted basis. Students are encouraged to apply early. 

- September intake- applications typically open in early October of the previous year until late August / early September. 
- January intake- applications typically open in early February of the previous year until late December / early January. 
- May intake- applications typically open in early June of the previous year until late April / early May.
