The Northern Collaborative Baccalaureate Nursing Program (NCBNP) is offered collaboratively by UNBC, the College of New Caledonia (CNC), and Coast Mountain College (CMTN). The integrated program of studies leads to a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BScN), awarded by UNBC. Your learning experiences  Learning experiences take place in the classroom, community, laboratory, and in clinical settings promoting integration of theoretical knowledge into practice. Upon graduation, you will be well grounded in acute care nursing, rural nursing, community health and First Nations health, and will be prepared for the changing context of health care and health care delivery.

1. Meet UNBC admission requirements with a minimum (70%) average.

2. Completion of the following high school courses:

- English Studies 12 or English First People 12 (70%) or equivalent 
- Chemistry 11 (70%) or equivalent 
- Pre-Calculus 11 (70%) or Foundations of Mathematics 11 (70%) or Principles of Math 11 (70%) or equivalent 
- Biology 12 (73%) or the equivalent of Anatomy & Physiology 12 (73%) (completed within the last 5 years)
- Two other approved academic [Grade 12 courses](https://www.unbc.ca/calendar/undergraduate/high-school-admissions#ApprovedBCHighSchoolCourses)
- A fifth Grade 12 course (Academic or Elective) 



Academic Admission Requirement

1. Upon acceptance into the program, the following will be required:

- A record of immunization status and any annual vaccination requirements, such as the Influenza Vaccine, based on release date of vaccine.
- Students must submit a completed immunization form to the UNBC School of Nursing prior to September in the first year of attendance. Students who fail to submit a completed form may not be allowed to practice in the clinical setting.
- Documentation of one of the following Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certifications, which must be successfully maintained throughout the program: CPR-C or Basic Life Support (BLS).
- BLS is highly recommended.
- Online CPR courses that do not include face-to-face practice components are not acceptable.
- Students must submit proof of CPR certification (and recertification) annually prior to commencement of classes, regardless of the expiry date on the card.

Additional Academic Admission Requirement

1. Verify alternative prerequisites directly with UNBC's Future Student's Office.

2. Admission Average: for all provinces, the best grade of the five required grade 12 courses will be used. 

Admission Advice

The NCBNP is a competitive-entry program. Meeting the minimum admission requirements does not guarantee acceptance to the program, as seats are limited.

Early applications are accepted up to one year in advance of the intended start date. The application deadline is March for the September and May entry, and November for the January entry. Students are encouraged to apply early in advance of application deadlines. Deadlines are subject to change and may be extended depending on seats availability. Verify with the institution for specific dates.

For international students, applications are not encouraged for the May semester, unless applicants are transferring from a Canadian post-secondary institution.
