The Bachelor of Science Degree in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology allows you to understand how simple, inanimate molecular interactions support life. You'll explore the foundations of biochemistry, such as organic and physical chemistry, and then explore biological molecules and how they operate in living systems. You'll gain skills in laboratory techniques that will prepare you for research positions, or you can pursue furher education and careers in medicine, teaching, pharmacy, biotechnology, science policy, and more.

1. High school graduation or equivalent 

2. At least a 65% average on the following five courses:

    - English Studies 12 or English First Peoples 12
    - Pre-calculus 12 (67%)
    - Two academic Grade 12 courses
    - A fifth Grade 12 course (academic or elective, whichever has the highest grade) 

3. Life Sciences 11 or Anatomy and Physiology 12 or equivalent 

4. Physics 11 or equivalent

Note: 
    - Approved Grade 12 courses can be found in High School Admissions
    - Anatomy and Physiology 12 can be counted as one of the Approved Academic Grade 12 courses.



Academic Admission Requirement

1. Verify alternative prerequisites directly with UNBC's Future Student's Office.

2. Admission Average: for all provinces, the best grade of the five required grade 12 courses will be used. 

Admission Advice

Early applications are accepted up to one year in advance of the intended start date. The application deadline is March for the September and May entry, and November for the January entry. Students are encouraged to apply early in advance of application deadlines. Deadlines are subject to change and may be extended depending on seats availability. Verify with the institution for specific dates.

For international students, applications are not encouraged for the May semester, unless applicants are transferring from a Canadian post-secondary institution.
