The Forest Technology Diploma provides an ideal starting point for learners excited by the combined career challenges of working in B.C.’s rugged outdoors and finding modern solutions to current forest management issues. Our primary goal is to provide job-ready graduates to potential employers in both private industry and government. Our program is nationally accredited and upon graduation, students are eligible to enrol to become Registered Forest Technologists with the Association of BC Forest Professionals.

1. One of:
    - High school graduation or equivalent
    - Minimum 19 years of age
      Note: If you are under the age of 19 and/or do not have a BC senior secondary school diploma or     
      equivalent, you must be enrolled in a secondary school transitions program, be enrolled in a program 
      under an agreement with the local school district, or have written consent from a parent or guardian and 
      letters of support from people who are familiar with your circumstances, such as a school principal or 
      health care provider.

2. English 12 (67%) or equivalent
3. Mathematics 11 (67%) or equivalent
4. Any BC Science Curriculum (with a lab component) at the grade 11 or 12 level (67%)

Academic Admission Requirement

1. Students admitted into the program should have the following:

good health
reasonably good physical condition
demonstrated interest in, and aptitude for, outdoor work is essential since much of the work is done in the field, often in difficult weather and topographic conditions.
computer competency is needed. It is strongly recommended that you have entry level experience with Microsoft Word, Excel and the internet.

Admission Advice

Applications may be submitted up to 12 months before the program start date, in September. Qualified applicants are accepted on a first-come, first-served basis. Early application is recommended.

International students are advised to apply well in advance to allow for appropriate time for Study Permit processing.
