Dental Technology Sciences diploma allows you to learn traditional and digital technologies used in the design and fabrication of dental restorative prostheses, orthodontic appliances, and implant-supported restorations. Instructional strategies, design and delivery modes to teach core skills and knowledge are based on the National Essential Competencies for Dental Laboratory Technology Practice in Canada. Theory and authentic laboratory practical experiences in labs are provided throughout the program.

1. High school graduation or equivalent
2. English 12 (C+) or equivalent
3. Anatomy and Physiology 12 (C+) or equivalent
4. One of:
 
Chemistry 11 (C+) or equivalent
Math 11 (C+) or equivalent
Physics 11 (C+) or equivalent 

Academic Admission Requirement

1. Portfolio demonstrating your aptitude for the Dental Technology profession as per  Dental Technology Sciences Portfolio Guidelines
2. Interview with the department (face-to-face or video conferencing) (for applicants whose portfolio submissions are approved by the department's Applicant Review Panel)
3. Current Basic First Aid and CPR-Level C (upon acceptance) 

Additional Academic Admission Requirement

1. Admission to the program is on a competitive selection basis. The applicants with the highest scores will be offered a seat in the program.
2. All requests for transfer credit or course exemptions must be submitted with the application.
3. This program is available to Canadian citizens and permanent residents.
4. Applicants who self-identify as Indigenous are strongly encourages to connect with VCC's Indigenous Education and Community Engagement team to learn more about VCC's Indigenous Enrolment policy and services.
5. If you are missing any prerequisites, VCC offers academic upgrading, English as a Second Language courses, and university transfer options.
