The Dental Reception certificate allows you to learn dental terminology, specialized software, and the full set of skills needed to coordinate a dental office. Acquisition of dental reception and software skills are enhanced through practicum in a dental practice.

1. High school graduation or equivalent
2. English 12 (C) or equivalent 
 
Note: Applicants who have completed a Level II Dental Assisting program from a Canadian accredited institution can be waived from the above requirements.

Academic Admission Requirement

1. The following will be required upon acceptance:
 
- Criminal Record Check through the Ministry of Justice
- Proof of a negative TB skin test. In case of a positive TB skin test, a negative TB chest x-ray report is required
- a current CPR certification (level C)

Additional Academic Admission Requirement

1. Updated immunizations are strongly recommended and may be required for practicum placement in the program:

    - Pertussis
    - Diphtheria
    - Tetanus
    - Polio
    - Measles/Mumps/Rubella
    - Chicken Pox
    - Hepatitis B
    - Influenza (required annually)
    - COVID-19

2. Recommended Characteristics:

    - Ability to communicate effectively in both written and spoken English
    - Empathetic and caring attitude
    - Ability to work independently and within a team environment
    - Detail oriented
    - Effective time management skills
    - Computer literacy (email, word processing and use of the internet)
