The Adult Basic Education program allows students to upgrade high school-level courses. Students can complete their adult dogwood, prepare for future career opportunities, improve grades on courses you have already finished, and complete prerequisites for post-secondary programs.

1. Meet with an Educational Advisor at NIC to discuss upgrading goals. If a skills assessment is needed, it will be booked at this time.
2. Submit any transcripts you have.

Academic Admission Requirement

1. If you have a documented disability, please contact NIC's Accessible Learning Services for assistance with your assessment.

2. Adult Basic Education (ABE) program at NIC allow students to upgrade high school-level courses in various subjects. More information about Adult Basic Education (ABE) course levels and options can be found here.

3. If you wish to obtain the BC Adult Graduation Diploma (ie - Grade 12 equivalency), you must be at least 19 years old at the time of completion. Click to learn more about the BC Adult Graduation Diploma. 

Admission Advice

Applications may be submitted starting 11 months before the intended program start date. Early application is recommended. Applications are open on the first business day in October. Students are accepted on a first applied, first qualified basis. Early application is encouraged.
