The Bachelor's Degree of Athletic & Exercise Therapy provides clinical and fieldwork experiences, giving you the theoretical knowledge, practical skills, and prerequisites necessary to seek designation as a Certified Athletic Therapist and Clinical Exercise Physiologist. You'll learn about human anatomy and health, injury prevention and treatment, fitness promotion, and work with sports teams through field placements. After graduation, you may work in athletic and exercise therapy clinics, with sports teams, in rehabilitation programs, and more.

1. High school graduation or equivalent
2. English Studies 12 or English First Peoples 12 (C+) or equivalent 
3. Math 11 (C+) or equivalent 
4. Anatomy and Physiology 12 (C+) or equivalent
5. Chemistry 11 (C) or equivalent 

Note:
- Admission is based on the cumulative grade point average (CGPA) for the above four courses. To be considered for entry, you need at least a "B" overall average.
If you studied outside of B.C. in Canada, check the Canadian High School Equivalency.

Academic Admission Requirement

1. Mandatory program orientation
2. Portfolio (includes a statement on preparation and motivation for your chosen career; and two letters of reference which address ethical and professional capabilities)
3. Lifestyle questionnaire and health-related fitness assessment that identifies your current level of fitness
4. You will be required to:
    - Hold valid Certificates for Standard First Aid and CPR-BLS. Proof of certification is required by the last day if classes in your first semester of the program
    - Purchase a Bachelor of Athletic and Exercise Therapy Placement Medical Kit
    - Apply to the Canadian Athletic Therapists Association (CATA) prior to starting Year-Two
    - Obtain a First Responder Certificate (after completing year-two Emergency Condition courses)
5. Criminal Record Check (Camosun will send you information on how to complete your Criminal Record Check after you've been accepted to your program)

Additional Academic Admission Requirement

1. The work environment in which you will be employed requires demanding lifting and moving techniques and extensive hand washing. If you have back, neck, arm injury or serious skin disorders (eg-psoriasis, eczema, dermatitis) or latex allergy, please consider these factors before applying.

2. If you have a significant health challenge, please consult with the Program Chair.

Qualified applicants are accepted on a first-come, first-served basis. Early application is recommended.

If you are a current Grade 12 at a Canadian high school, You can apply for conditional admission between September and May.
