The Performance Studies Diploma is an advanced program designed to prepare vocalists and instrumentalists for professional performing careers through private instruction and intensive solo and ensemble performance experiences. In general, applicants should have training equivalent to that of BMus performance graduates of UBCV.

1. Minimum 60 credits of post-secondary study, normally in an accredited Bachelor of Music performance program  (preference is given to applicants who have completed a Bachelor of Music or graduate degree in music performance) 

Academic Admission Requirement

1. Audition (20-30 minutes of music that shows musical potential and technical facility)
    - Note: A pianist is not required for instrumental audition, but is usually required for vocal auditions.

Additional Academic Admission Requirement

1. Enrollment in the program is limited. Only gifted performers with good prospects for a professional career will be considered. 

2. UBCV's Admission's web page offers detailed information on general admissions process. It includes easy-to-follow advice for potential students in all admission categories.

3. All applicants need to fill out two applications:
    - Online application for admission to UBCV
    - School of Music's Diploma Supplementary Application

Admission Advice

You need to submit both an online UBCV application and the School of Music's Diploma Supplementary Application:

The deadline for application to UBCV is January 
The deadline for applying to the School of Music is January 
The upload deadline for video auditions is March (The link to upload will be emailed to applicants after January)

Late applications may be considered on an individual basis. Confirm dates with UBCV School of Music (Diploma).
