The Bachelor of Media Arts Degree prepares you for the technical, creative, and collaborative demands of digital media industries. You'll gain professional communication, creative problem solving, and project management skills while concentrating in Digital Entertainment Arts, Digital Performance, Film, Interactive Media, or Interactive Media Leadership. Upon graduation, you'll be prepared to enter the VFX and Animation industry, in jobs like digital concept artist, game artist, VFX compositor, motion capture artist, cinematographer, and more.

Option A. For students with high school graduation only
 
1. High school graduation or equivalent
 
2. English 12 (C+) or equivalent or Degree/Diploma Level English Language proficiency 
 
3. Two additional Approved Grade 12 courses (B average)

Option B. For Students who have some Post-Secondary education
 
1. English Studies 12 (C+) Degree/Diploma Level English Language proficiency
 
2. One of:
 
- Completion of minimum 15 credits at the post-secondary level on all credits attempted (C+ or 2.33 CGPA)
- Completion of a two-year post-secondary credential (such as a diploma or an associate degree in Arts, Liberal Arts, Graphic and Digital Design, Visual Arts, Theatre, or Computer Information Systems) on all courses taken (C or 2.0 CGPA)
- Completion of a career or technical diploma (at least two years of post-secondary credits) on all courses taken (C or 2.0 CGPA)
- Completion of a Bachelor's degree from a recognized institution (C or 2.0 CGPA)

Additional Academic Admission Requirement

1. After submitting your online application to UFV, you will receive information on program orientation and portfolio submission dates as well as portfolio guidelines. The portfolio and letter of interest are not due at the time of application, but will be submitted online and reviewed in May for the Fall intake and in October for the Winter intake. 
 
2. All applicants must attend a program orientation. Applicants who reside outside the Lower Mainland area should contact the Bachelor of Media Arts Advisor for alternate arrangements.
 
3. Mature students (25 years and older) may be admitted, if you can demonstrate related experience in the field, can read and write at an appropriate level, and can meet the entrance requirements relating to writing within one year of admission. To apply under this category, please consult with an UFV's academic advisor.
 
4. If you do not meet the academic requirements for program entry, have the option of taking Qualifying Studies (upgrading courses) in order to upgrade your qualifications for future admissions.
 
5. Entrance to this Program is competitive. Applicants will be admitted based on prior academic success, workplace experience, and portfolio assessment.
