The Library and Information Technology Diploma prepares graduates to work in a wide range of libraries and other information centres. The program includes technical courses and computer labs that help you to develop the complex skills necessary to work in today's information centres. Upon graduation, you'll be able to organize and manage information, and make it accessible to customers and patrons of libraries.

1. One of:
 
    - High school graduation or equivalent
    - Completion of minimum 9 credits at the post-secondary level with based on all credits attempted (C or 2.0 CGPA) 
    - Minimum 19 years of age by the first ay of class and submit a letter (250-500 words) describing your interest, qualifications and relevant work experience  
 
2. English 12 (C+) or equivalent or Degree/Diploma Level English Language proficiency

Academic Admission Requirement

1. Keyboarding speed (touch type) of at least 45 words per minute

2. Criminal Record Check (after acceptance into the program and before practicum starts)

Additional Academic Admission Requirement

1. If you do not meet the academic requirements for program entry, you have the option of taking Qualifying Studies (upgrading courses) in order to upgrade your qualifications for future admissions.
 
2. Applicants who cannot touch type will benefit from taking a keyboarding course through Continuing Education before beginning the program.

Applications should be submitted as soon as possible after the first day to apply. 
 
Once applications are complete (all required documents have been received), an application date is recorded. Qualified applicants are accepted on a first-come, first-served basis.
