The General Studies Diploma, you can fully customize your own educational experience to fit your goals. You may be able to count vocational credits, transfer credits, or professional training towards your diploma. The Diploma can lead you to a variety of degree programs depending on your interests and career goals.

Option A: For Students with High School Graduation Only
 
1\. High school graduation or [equivalent](https://www.ufv.ca/calendar/current/General/EnglishProficiency.htm)
 
2\. English 12 (C+) or equivalent 
3\. One additional Approved Grade 12 courses (C+)
 
Option B: For Students who have completed some Post-Secondary study
 
1\. Completion of minimum 9 credits at the post-secondary level (C or 2.0 CGPA) including on all credits attempted
 
2\. English 12 (C+) or equivalent or Degree/Diploma Level English Language proficiency

Academic Admission Requirement

1. Out-of-province applicants will be considered on the basis of courses equivalent to Approved Grade 12 courses. Out-of-country applicants must have B.C. secondary school graduation equivalency, meet the prerequisites for ENGL 105 or CMNS 125, and have completed an equivalent of C+ (equated to the UFV grading system) in one Approved Grade 12 course.

1. If you do not meet the academic requirements for program entry, you may apply to Qualifying Studies in order to upgrade your qualifications for future admissions. Students who do not meet these requirements might consider Qualifying Studies and/or a meeting with an Academic Advisor.


Admission Advice

Application opening dates for specific intake applications:

Fall semester: October; Winter semester: May; Summer semester: October

Applications should be submitted as soon as possible after the first day to apply. 
 
Once applications are complete (all required documents have been received), an application date is recorded. Qualified applicants are accepted on a first-come, first-served basis.
