This Theatre Arts at Studio 58 Diploma (Production) is designed for individuals with previous design, technical, or backstage theatre experience who wish to learn and develop additional skills in a practical theatre setting. You should have a clear notion in which areas of theatre production in which you wish to concentrate your studies. The Theatre Production Program, after the first term, consists of foundational, developmental, and applied studies in areas of technical theatre. 1. High school graduation or equivalent
2. English 12 (50%) or [equivalent](https://langara.ca/admissions/requirements/english-language-requirements/index.html)

1\. Audition: You must demonstrate sufficient talent with the potential to become a professional in theatre arts. You must also show a high degree of commitment to pursuing a professional career in theatre, film, TV or related area.
2\. Project.
3\. Interview with program faculty member.

1\. Auditions are held in late April each year. For those located within the Lower Mainland, auditions are held in person. Online auditions are available for candidates located outside of the Lower Mainland.
2\. It is recommended that you:
Are at least 19 years old at the time of your audition;
Have at least two years of post-secondary education and/or work experience (does not have to be related to theatre arts)
Are financially able to support yourself without having to work during the program. Theatre Arts students are requested to put in long and irregular hours, including evenings and weekends which makes having an outside job difficult.
3\. Senior students sometimes are given the opportunity to gain additional experience by working with professional theatres in Vancouver or working on a film/TV project.
4\. Check the prerequisites in the course descriptions required for your program. For example, you may need to write a placement test or to take one or more additional English courses in order to meet the prerequisite requirements of the first-year English courses required in this program. Check the prerequisite(s) in the course description for courses required in your Program.

Applications may be submitted starting 11 months before the intended program start date. Early application is recommended.

Application Deadline is April 13. Auditions take place in April.
