The Bachelor of Arts in Psychology allows you to scientifically study thought, feeling and behaviour. You can gain critical thinking skills, and be able to analyze and interpret diverse sets of data. By participating in classroom discussions, readings, guided research and independent study, you will gain a comprehensive understanding of the tools needed to analyze psychological and biological processes and more.

- Acceptable assessment result (for example: Accuplacer, LPI, TRU English Placement Test, TOEFL or IELTS) 

Academic Admission Requirement

1. Foundation of Mathematics 11 or higher is strongly recommended.

2. Aside from admission requirements, there are also specific course registration requirements (called prerequisites) which are listed within TRU course description. Prerequisite = Course that must be successfully completed prior to registering in a given course. For program completion and course registration purposes, make sure that you have the course prerequisites before registering individual courses.

3. Students usually declare a major before the beginning of their third year of courses. You must meet the following specific lower-level requirements before declaring a major in Psychology:

PSYC 1110, PSYC 1210, PSYC 2100, PSYC 2110 and PSYC 2040

Students at TRU are assigned a Major Program Advisor. You are encouraged to meet with an advisor to ensure that you select the appropriate courses in order to qualify for program major declaration. 

4. If you do not meet the admission and/or course prerequisites, you may begin your first-year university study by taking University Preparation courses to to get started. Please contact TRU's student recruiter to discuss about your options. 

Admission Advice

TRU begins accepting applications in October. 

Applications received prior to March will be guaranteed an admission decision and an earlier registration date. This program will continue to accept applications until the start of each semester.
