Get started on your forestry degree by completing the first two years of the University of British Columbia’s four-year forestry degree program at TRU. A general year of forestry is followed in second year by forest resource management, forest operations, forest science and natural resource conservation. With a grade point average of at least 2.50 in the required courses you are eligible to apply for admission to the UBC Faculty of Forestry.

1. High school graduation or equivalent
2.  English 12 (73%) or equivalent
3. Pre-Calculus 12 (C+) or equivalent
4. Science 11
Two of the following:

-Life Sciences 11 (minimum requirement for entry into BIOL 1110 at TRU) or equivalent
-Chemistry 11 or equivalent
-Physics 11 or equivalent

Note: Completion of all three are recommended.

5. Science 12
One of:

-Anatomy & Physiology 12 or equivalent
-Chemistry 12 or equivalent
-Physics 12 or equivalent
-or equivalent

Academic Admission Requirement

1. Out-of-the-province students can click here to see Canadian secondary school course equivalencies for admissions. 

2. If you lack high school English and/ Math requirements, you can take upgrading courses at TRU to help you get started. You are encouraged to talk to TRU's student recruiter about your options. 

3. This program allows students to complete the first two years of UBC's Bachelor of Science in Forestry (Forest Resources Management Major) at TRU. With a grade point average of at least 2.50 in the required courses of the Forestry Transfer program, you are eligible to apply for admission to the UBC Faculty of Forestry.

Admission Advice

TRU begins accepting applications in October. Qualified applicants are accepted on a first-come, first-served basis. Early application is strongly recommended.
