The Kinesiology diploma program at Capilano University (Squamish Campus) gives you training in a field that will enable you to create practical, workable solutions that help people live their healthiest lives.

Squamish Kinesiology Diploma graduates can continue their studies by applying to the Bachelor of Kinesiology program offered at our main North Vancouver campus.

1. High school graduation or equivalent
2. Minimum 60% or 2.0 GPA in:
    - English 12 or equivalent and
    - Two academic Grade 12 courses
3. Principles of Math 11 (C) or equivalent
4. Biology 12 (pass) or equivalent

Additional Academic Admission Requirement



1. This program does not accept applications. However, students can apply to the Bachelor of Kinesiology, and work towards earning the Diploma by completing the program graduation requirements of Kinesiology Diploma (60 Credits). 

2. Letter of interest should include the following details:
    - Career path/goal, 
    - Volunteer positions and number of volunteer hours,
    - Life experience such as work, travel, injury/illness,
    - Sports and physical activity involvement including duration of participation
    - If applicable, please include any awards, recognition or leadership positions

3. The two reference names:
    - Please provide the title and position of reference with a telephone number and email address
    - Examples include employer, volunteer coordinator, coach or teacher (no family or friends)

4. English is the language of instruction at CapU. All applicants are required to demonstrate competence in the English language prior to admission. If English is not your primary language, you must meet the English language requirements for admission.

5. Current Grade 12 students can be conditionally accepted based on final Grade 11 grades or interim Grade 12 grades. Students can upload proof of grades (e.g. unofficial transcripts, copies of report cards) through EducationPlannerBC when applying to Capilano University.
    - Note: All B.C. applicants must release their grades to CapU via the BC Ministry of Education at Student Transcripts Services (STS). Please do this as soon as possible.

6. Aside from program entry/admission requirements, there are also specific course registration requirements (called prerequisites) which are listed within Capilano University’s course description. Prerequisite = course that must be successfully completed prior to registering in a given course. For example, English 12 (67%) or equivalent is required prior to registering an English 100 level course.

7. If you do not meet the admission and/or prerequisite requirements, academic upgrading is available at Capilano University. 

Admission Advice

The Diploma of Kinesiology does not accept applications. However, students can apply to the Bachelor of Kinesiology and work towards earning this Diploma by meeting the graduation requirements of Diploma in Kinesiology.
