The Applied Behaviour Analysis – Autism Bachelor of Arts Degree trains you in many key areas, including behaviour principles, assessments and applications, supporting individuals with ASD and their families, assessment and intervention planning for children with ASD and using applied behaviour analysis with adults who have ASD and other developmental disabilities. You'll also take part in three different supervised practicum placements to help you gain on the job experience before graduation. Program graduates are eligible to sit for the exam immediately to become Board Certified Assistant Behavior Analysts (BCaBA).

1. High school graduation or equivalent
2. English 12 (60% or 2.0 GPA) or equivalent

Academic Admission Requirement

1. Students who have completed 30 credits or a 30-credit credential may be considered for admission into year two of the program but must complete ABA 100, 101, 200 and 201. Students who have completed an Associate of Arts or Science, 60 credits, or a 60-credit credential plus documentation of at least 300 hours of BCBA-supervised ABA experience may be considered for admission into year three of the program and will be deemed to have met the requirements of ABA 100, 101, 200 and 201


2. English is the language of instruction at CapU. All applicants are required to demonstrate competence in the English language prior to admission. If English is not your first language or you’ve received your education in a language other than English, please follow the guidelines here.


3. Current Grade 12 students can be conditionally accepted based on final Grade 11 grades or interim Grade 12 grades. Students can upload proof of grades (e.g. unofficial transcripts, copies of report cards) through EducationPlannerBC when applying to Capilano University. Final acceptance will be based on high school graduation and having met the program specific requirements.
    - Note: All B.C. applicants must release their grades to CapU via the BC Ministry of Education at Student Transcripts Services (STS). Please do this as soon as possible.


4. Aside from program entry/admission requirements, there are also specific course registration requirements (called prerequisites) which are listed within Capilano University’s course description. Prerequisite = course that must be successfully completed prior to registering in a given course. For example, English 12 (67%) or equivalent is required prior to registering an English 100 level course.
