The Bachelor of Natural Resource Protection Degree builds on the existing two-year Resource Management Officer Technology (RMOT) Diploma. The Bachelor of Natural Resource Protection will enable RMOT diploma graduates to receive an undergraduate degree after an additional two years of course work. This degree has been designed to provide an advanced credential for other career opportunities in the natural resource conservation and protection field.

This program admits students at the third year of the Degree program:



1. Completion of VIU's Resource Management Officer Technology Diploma (C+ GPA)


Academic Admission Requirement

1. Entry to the third year of the degree program is limited. Admission is competitive based on grade point average. Meeting or exceeding the minimum admission requirements does not guarantee admission to this Program.

3. Diploma graduates from similar fish, wildlife and recreation programs taken at other institutions (such as BCIT and Selkirk College) may block transfer into the spring semester of the second year of the Resource Management Officer Technology Diploma. These applicants may then apply to the Bachelor Degree program the following year.


Admission Advice

Applications are accepted for September entry from the first business day in October to March. Early application is recommended.

Students enrolled in the second year of the Resource Management Officer Technology diploma program have until April 30 to apply for third-year entry to the Bachelor of Natural Resource Protection program.
