In the Music & Computer Science Degree, you will have the option of obtaining a Bachelor of Fine Arts or a Bachelor of Science. In this combined major, you'll learn from music faculty and computer scientists and work alongside professional recording engineers. Through this program, you will use technology to explore new styles and formats of music.

1. High school graduation or equivalent

2. All of the following Grade 12 courses: 
    - English 12 (67%) or equivalent
    - Pre-Calculus 12 (73%) or equivalent
    - One approved academic 12 courses
    - One additional approved academic 12 or approved fine arts 12

3. All of the following Grade 11 courses: 
- One approved English 11 or equivalent
- Foundations of Math 11 or Pre-calculus 11 or equivalent
- Two courses from:
    - Science 11 or equivalent
    - Language 11 or equivalent
    - Fine arts 11 or equivalent
- Social studies 11/12 or equivalent

Estimated admission average: 85%

Academic Admission Requirement

1. Recorded audition (one or more video recording of yourself performing)

2. Two letters of reference from qualified musicians

3. Portfolio submission

Additional Academic Admission Requirement

1. All applicants to UVic (regardless of country of origin or citizenship status) are required to demonstrate competence in the English language prior to admission. You can choose one of several ways to demonstrate language proficiency. You are not required to provide proof of language proficiency if you have studied full time for at least four years within Canada at the high school and/or post-secondary level, and all of your instruction has been in English.

3. Admission averages are calculated using all required Grade 12 courses for entry to a program. 

Admission Advice

Applications must be submitted by the following dates:			
- January for September program entry			
- September for January program entry			
- March for May program entry

Proof of English language proficiency: typically one month after the application deadline. Your language-proficiency deadline will be indicated in your online application checklist after you submit your online application to UVic.
