The Bachelor of Arts Degree in French offers interactive language classes, online courses, and use mass and social media to bring your French to a professional level. You'll take courses in French writing, French literary studies, linguistics, accents, and more. Upon graduation, knowledge of French will have prepared you for careers in diplomacy and the foreign service, immigration, journalism, policy, and more.

1. High school graduation or equivalent

2. English 12 (70%) or equivalent

3. English 11 or equivalent 

4. One of:
    - Science 12 
    - Math 12

Academic Admission Requirement

1. SFU has specific course requirements for Grade 11 and 12. A comprehensive list of all approved Grade 11 and 12 academic courses can be found here.

2. Admission is based on an evaluation of all approved Grade 11 and 12 courses, with greater emphasis on List A courses than List B. Equivalent AP or IB courses may be used in place of certain courses - see the institution's website for details.

3. Application to the Co-op Education Program is usually done within the first year of study or, at a minimum, two semesters before an intended work semester. 

Admission Advice

September intake: High school applicants: October to January
Post-secondary/transfer applicants: October to February
January intake: August to September
May intake: October to January
