To work as an Occupational Hygienist in B.C., you may need to be registered with the Canadian Registration Board of Occupational Hygienists. Eligibility is achieved by successful examination completion.

To work as an Urban And Land Use Planner in B.C., you may choose to earn the Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design Certification. Eligibility is achieved through signing up with the Canada Green Building Council.

To work as a Natural and applied science policy researcher, consultant or program officer in B.C., you may need to be registered with the Association of Canadian Ergonomists. Eligibility is achieved by submitting a resume and a copy of post-secondary educational transcripts.

This instructional program class comprises any program that is either a general synthesis of one or more of the biological and physical sciences, or a specialization which draws from the biological and physical sciences.

To work as a consultant, officer or researcher related to sport, recreation or fitness in B.C., you may choose to register as a member with the British Columbian Recreation and Parks Association (BCRPA). Contact the association to initiate the membership process.

To work as a coach in B.C., you may need to complete the National Coaching Certification Program specific to your sport or activity. Certification requirements vary depending on the sport and level you wish to coach.

To work as a payroll administrator in B.C., you may choose to register as a member with the National Payroll Institute (NPI). The NPI offers a range of professional membership options, available to you depending on the stage of your payroll compliance practitioner (PCP) education journey.

To work as a ski instructor in B.C., you may need to be registered with the Canadian Ski Instructors' Alliance (CSIA). Eligibility is achieved by passing each of the four levels of Instructor Certification and a Trainer Designation.

To work as a personal trainer in B.C., you may need to have Personal Trainer Certification through the BC Recreation and Parks Association (BCRPA). Eligibility is achieved by completing a core specialty prerequisite, completion of an advanced specialty module, a specialty exam, and completion of an instructor competency evaluation.

Natural and applied science policy researchers, consultants and program officers conduct research, prepare reports, provide consultation and advice and administer programs in a variety of areas related to the natural and applied sciences. They are employed by federal, provincial and municipal governments, computer and office furniture manufacturers, educational institutions, research organizations, consulting firms, environmental and conservation organizations, or they may be self-employed.

The Bachelor of Science degree will help you expand your knowledge of scientific study with courses in biology, chemistry, computing and data science, physics, mathematics and statistics. Build a solid foundation in research through hands-on lab work and practical field experience. You’ll also collaborate with community partners to access in-demand jobs and prepare for post-graduate studies.

The Bachelor of Science, General program concentrates study in one subject to the level required for a minor. No labs are required.

The Bachelor of Science, General Science, provides opportunities for practical, hands-on experience across a spectrum of science disciplines in the classroom, in the lab, and in the field. In addition, there are opportunities to work with nationally and internationally recognized professor-researchers in their research laboratories. Communication skills and computer literacy are promoted. Flexibility in the program allows you to pursue interests in disciplines outside your area of specialization.

The Combined Major in Science (CMS) provides you with a broad-based science education, with a focus on data handling, communications skills, and experiential learning. It will equip you with the background to understand and evaluate scientific issues and statements from a number of disciplines. It is not designed for students interested in research careers, but is suited to students preparing for professional schools such as education, law, or medicine, or those interested in scientific journalism.

Combined Major in Science: Bachelor of Science Degree (BSc) - UBCV

The UBCV Sciences Po Bachelor of Arts Dual Degree is a partnership between the University of British Columbia and Sciences Po (l’Institut d’études politiques de Paris) that gives you the opportunity to earn two Bachelor of Arts degrees in four years, while studying in Canada and France. As a Dual Degree student, you’ll spend the first two years of your studies at one of Sciences Po’s three regional campuses before you choose a major and complete your degree at UBCV, usually in history, sociology, political science, geography, or economics. You'll still have the option to participate in Co-op and Arts Internship programs before utilizing your international experience in a variety of careers.
