To work as a coach in B.C., you may need to complete the National Coaching Certification Program specific to your sport or activity. Certification requirements vary depending on the sport and level you wish to coach.

To work as a payroll administrator in B.C., you may choose to register as a member with the National Payroll Institute (NPI). The NPI offers a range of professional membership options, available to you depending on the stage of your payroll compliance practitioner (PCP) education journey.

This instructional program class comprises any program that prepares individuals to teach physical education programs and/or to coach sports at various educational levels.

Physical education teaching and coaching

This instructional program class comprises any program that focuses on assisting individuals in achieving personal goals such as life transitions, relationships, physical well-being, emotional well-being, and career choices. These programs include courses in career and vocational development, coaching methodologies, coaching research techniques, group coaching, leadership techniques, and personal coaching.

Life coaching (not for credit)

This instructional program class comprises any program that focuses on assisting individuals achieve career goals or assisting business leaders achieve organizational change. These programs include courses in executive coaching, group dynamics, leadership, management, organizational behavior, organizational communication, and team building.

Executive/career coaching

Coaching Continuing Education

Coaches prepare and train individual athletes or teams for competitive events. They are employed by national and provincial sports organizations, professional and amateur sports teams, sports clubs and universities or they may be self-employed. This unit group also includes sports scouts who identify and recruit athletes for professional sports teams. They are employed by professional sports organizations.

Image, social and other personal consultants advise clients on their personal appearance, speaking style, manners or other behaviours in order to improve personal or business images. They are employed by beauty salons, fashion boutiques, modelling schools, image consulting companies, weight loss centres or they may be self-employed.
