The Health Care Assistant Certificate is designed to provide you with opportunities to develop the knowledge, skills and attitudes necessary to function effectively as front‐line care-­givers and respected members of the health care team. This program combines theory, lab study and practice experience. You will develop knowledge, skills, and attitudes necessary to provide professional care to the elderly and those facing other health or illness challenges. Student practice experiences are an integral part of the program. Clinical practice experiences occur outside of the college setting. Upon completion of the program, graduates are prepared to work in a variety of practice settings.
