The 2-year Civil Engineering Technology provides theoretical and practical knowledge to support their work within the broad field of Civil Engineering. Courses will be delivered with components of face-to-face classroom instruction, computer-aided design and modelling, field surveying, and experimental laboratory testing. You will develop an understanding of the engineering principles used to perform structural, hydraulic, municipal, transportation, and construction materials design. Effective technical communication and project management skills are emphasized throughout the program.

1. High school graduation or equivalent
2. English 12 (C) or equivalent
3. Foundations of Mathematics 12 (C+) or equivalent
4. Physics 11 (B) or Physics 12 (C) or equivalent
5. Chemistry 11 (C) or equivalent
    - Note: Chemistry 12 may be required for transfer to an engineering degree program. 

Academic Admission Requirement


1. To meet admission requirements, students in grade 12 may submit expected final grades for courses in progress.
2. To meet admission requirements, students completing upgrading courses can submit interim grades once they are 50% through the course.
3. Aside from program entry/admission requirements, there are also specific course registration requirements (called course prerequisites) that are listed within the College of New Caledonia’s course description. Check course prerequisites before registering individual courses. If you need help meeting course prerequisites, academic upgrading options are available.
4. It is highly recommended that the required admissions courses be completed within the past five years. If more than five years have elapsed, upgrading the required subjects is suggested.
5. This is a bring your own device program. The course content contains a substantial amount of computer-aided design.
