Description

Automotive Refinishing Prep Technicians are responsible for preparing cars, trucks and buses so that an Automotive Refinishing Technician can apply paint applications. This includes removing parts, performing chemical cleaning, applying putty, sanding, and priming the vehicle.

The program combines technical and work-based training. It generally takes one year to complete.

The technical training is four weeks. This block of training is normally delivered through an ITA approved training institution. Sometimes it may also be met through approved training models (distance education, part-time) and/or a level challenge exam.
