Applications should be submitted as early as possible. Qualified applicants are accepted on a first-come, first-served basis.

Academic (minimum grade in bracket)

  • Foundations of Math 11 (C+)

Admission Advice

1. A strong "people-focus", familiarity with computers, basic keyboarding skills, and fluency in a second language are further assets that will strengthen your chances for success in the program.

2. High School graduates who have completed the Career Preparation Program in Hospitality and Tourism should indicate this to the department head.

3. All requests for transfer credits or course exemptions must be submitted with your application.

English Language Requirement - Applicants must have proficiency in English at a level suitable for their desired program.

BC Transfer Student

If you have prior post-secondary education that you want to transfer to VCC you must make a formal request through the Registrar's Office by completing an Approval for Transfer Credit form and attaching all required documents. For more information call 604.443.8411.

Mature Student

You must be at least 18 years old (unless you have graduated from Secondary School) to meet the general admission requirement for VCC. In addition, specific program admission requirements must also be met.

Block Transfer within VCC

Graduates of the Hospitality Management Diploma may ladder into the third year of VCC's Bachelor of Hospitality Management Degree.

Final Note: Minimum grade point average and other requirements may apply. All transfer requirements should be confirmed with advising personnel within the institution.

 

Inter-Institutional Block Arrangements

Introductory Note: Normally one year of academic study is made up of 15 units or 30 credits.

Graduates are eligible for the following block transfer opportunities:

  • up to 30 credits within the Bachelor of Arts Degree - TRU-OL
  • 30 units within the Bachelor of Commerce (Hospitality Services Management Option only) Degree - UVic
  • 60 credits within the Bachelor of Commerce in Entrepreneurial Management Degree - Royal Roads
  • up to 60 credits within the Bachelor of Tourism Management Degree - TRU-OL
  • up to 60 credits within the Bachelor of General Studies Degree - TRU-OL
  • up to 60 credits within the Bachelor of Business Administration Degree - TRU-OL
  • up to 72 credits within the Bachelor of Business Administration Degree - TRU-OL

Block Transfer out of province

Graduates may receive transfer into third-year programs at the University of Calgary; Ryerson University (Toronto, Ontario); University of Guelph (Ontario); and University of New Brunswick.

Specialized transfer arrangements are also in place with La Trobe University (Australia) and Cornell University (New York State, USA). Contact an academic advisor or program personnel for full details.
