Application Deadline Advice

Applications should be submitted as early as possible. Qualified applicants are accepted on a first-come, first-served basis.

Application Fee: $35

Non-Academic

  • interview with the Student Service Assistant for Students with Disabilities
  • interview with two members of the Community and Career Education Department, including a hands-on assessment. (Applicants may be asked to sign a release form for any reports that will provide the staff with more information.)
  • been diagnosed or have a history that identifies a difficulty with learning
  • be comfortable in an alternative learning environment designed for students with disabilities
  • provide evidence of career exploration that supports training in the food service industry
  • at least a Grade 5 reading level. (Lesser qualified applicants may be considered with the instructor's approval.)
  • be able to travel independently to the college and workplace
  • be able to attend classroom instruction and practical work experiences (30 hours per week)
  • be able to perform all program related tasks with strength and endurance
  • good finger and hand dexterity for handling food and equipment
  • emotional and medical stability

English Language Requirement - Applicants must have proficiency in English at a level suitable for their desired program.

BC Secondary School (or equivalent)

You must meet the admission requirements of your intended program before your name is added to a waitlist or registered in a program.

You must meet the admission requirements of your intended program before your name is added to a waitlist or registered in a program.

BC Transfer Student

If you have prior post-secondary education that you want to transfer to VCC you must make a formal request through the Registrar's Office by completing an Approval for Transfer Credit form and attaching all required documents. For more information call 604.443.8411.

Mature Student
