Academic

  • at least 12 units of credits, including three appropriate units of English (ENGL 135 and one of ENGL 146/147)
  • academic preparation which includes: EPHE 143 (1.5) and a minimum grade point average of 4.00 (B-) on the most recent session. For students currently registered in less than 12 units, the GPA will be determined by using a combination of the GPA achieved in the current session and the GPA from the previous session (to reach the 12 unit minimum total).

Non-Academic

  • participate in an interview conducted by the School of Exercise Science, Physical and Health Education

English Language Requirements

Summary

One of the following (minimum scores):

  • 86% on the BC English 12 provincial exam within the last three years
  • 86% in English 12 in another Canadian province within the last three years
  • Level 6 on the Language Proficiency Index (LPI)
  • A score of 4 on the Advanced Placement Exam in English Language and Composition
  • A score of 4 on IB Higher Level English
  • 1.5 units of transferable university level English credits
  • A degree from an accredited English speaking university

If you do not meet one of these requirements, you must write the Language Proficiency Index to determine placement in an appropriate English course
