Applications received prior to March 1 will be guaranteed an admission decision and an earlier registration date. This program continues to accept applications until the start of each semester.

1. Aside from admission requirements, there are also specific course registration requirements (called prerequisites) which are listed within TRU course description. Prerequisite = Course that must be successfully completed prior to registering in a given course. Check course prerequisites before registering individual courses.
2. If you do not meet the admission and/or course prerequisites, you may begin your first-year university study by taking University Preparation courses to to get started. Talk to TRU's student recruiter about your options.
3. Students usually declare a major before the beginning of their third year of courses. You must meet specific lower-level requirements before declaring the major. All candidates are assigned a Major Program Advisor. You are encouraged to meet with an advisor to ensure that you select the appropriate courses in order to qualify for program major declaration.

Summary
For students whose first language is not English and wish to enter academic programs without attending ESL courses, you must provide one of the following (minimum scores):

You must meet the program-specific admission requirements of your intended program. To qualify for admission to the Bachelor of Business/Arts/Science degree program, you will need to have completed BC Grade 12 (or equivalent).

If you do not meet the admission requirements for your intended program it's possible to gain entry through mature student status. To be classified as a mature student you must be at least 19 years old and have been out of school for at least two years. In such cases the grade level requirement (eg -Grade 10, Grade 12) will be waived however individual course prerequisites must still be met (eg-English 10, English 12).
Special Note: It's possible to make up course prerequisites for your intended program through TRU.
