Academic

1.Grade 10 completion (Grade 11 completion is strongly recommended)

2.Grade 10 English or equivalent (Grade 11 English is strongly recommended)

3. English Language Competency for non-native speakers of English as per the BC Care Aide Registry Requirements

4. A basic ability to use a computer and the Internet 

Non-Academic

  • current Red Cross Standard Certificate with CPR Level C or CPR-HCP Certificate within the last two years
  • up to date immunization record
  • Food Safe certificate level 1
  • Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) certificate
  • Criminal Record Check
  • signed health status declaration
  • a health science placement network form
  • good health and no back problems
  • ability to use a computer and the internet at a basic level

Admission Advice

1. Volunteer or work experience with older adults and physically challenged persons is recommended.

2. Discussion with a home support worker is recommended.

You must meet the prerequisite for your intended course(s) or the admission requirements of your intended program.
