  • Chemistry 11 or an equivalent Advanced Level Adult Basic Education Chemistry course
  • Chemistry 12 or an equivalent Advanced Level Adult Basic Education Chemistry course (67%)

6. One other approved subject (67%)

Notes:

Grade 11 courses will not be used in the admission average but are required for admission. Admission is competitive.

Non-Academic

  • current certification in Occupational First Aid Level 1 or Standard First Aid
  • current certification in CPR Level C
  • a signed copy of the CRNBC Requisite Skills and Abilities form
  • Criminal Record Check (done within three months of the program start date)
  • results of tuberculin testing done no more than six months before the date of application, with evidence of appropriate follow up if the test was positive
  • up-to-date immunization record

Admission Advice

If you have completed university-transferable course work at OC or another post-secondary institution it's also possible to be considered for admission.

English Language Requirements

Summary

If English is not your first language, you must submit one of the following (minimum scores):

  • A TOEFL score of 550 (paper based), 213 (computer based), or 79 (internet based)
  • An academic IELTS overall band score of 6.5
  • A Okanagan College English Language Assessment (OCELA) of 6
  • 70% in each of ELSE 060, ESLW 061 and ESLR 062 for admission to a Bachelor of Business Administration Degree, Business Administration diploma, Commercial Aviation Diploma or Advance Culinary Arts diploma
  • 60% in each of ELSE 060, ESLW 061 and ESLR 062 for admission to Arts, Science, Computer Information Systems, and Engineering Technology programs
  • 70% in English 12 or equivalent for Business programs
  • 60% in English 12 or equivalent for Arts, Science, Engineering Technology, and most diploma programs
  • 50% in an English literature or composition course at a recognized university or college in Canada
  • Level 5 on the Language Proficiency Index for Business or Level 4 for Arts, Science, technology and most diploma programs
  • A degree or diploma from an accredited institution where English is the language of instruction
